| Wow - I have not posted in forEVER! I just wanted to give you all a quote that I thought was good...
Boyhood, like measles, is one of those complaints which
a man should catch young and have done with, for when it comes in
middle life it is apt to be serious. - PG Wodehouse

| Hey dudes:
I just had one of the most AWEsome weekends EVER! I had a hockey
tournament which we did really bad in and if you know me at all, you
know that normally right about now I would be totally bummed about how
bad we did and how bad I played. So, the fact that I had a
tournament and we did bad and I STILL say that I had one of the most
awesome weekends ever is a huge reflection on the events of this
weekend and the people that I spent it with and how totally amazing
they are.
It was my best bud, Whitney Page's graduation this weekend. She
lives near Monterey, RIGHT on the beach. So I went to spend the
weekend there to chill with the fam and stuff. We didn't really
do anything that special, but the fun times just never ended. It
was a blast! I got to meet a lot of Whit's extended family, which
was awesome. I got to meet her sister's boy friend (also
awesome). And the fellowship and spending time with them was SO
awesome that I just can't describe it.
All in all, a wonderful weekend of relaxation, fellowship, friends and
fun. And I got a good tan too! What more could a guy ask
for?
It's late, so I'm going to bed. Night dudes...

| Hey everyone. I know I have not updated in a while, but no one
really reads what I write anyways. And if anyone (or no one, as
the case may be) reads what I write, anyone (or no one) does not leave
any comments. So... you see my dilemma. I have a very busy
schedule, and not much time for anything. I have school, work,
school, work and then homework jammed in about the edges whenever I
have a spare moment. But, be that as it may, I am updating
now. SO, IF ANYONE (or no one) IS READING THIS, LEAVE COMMENTS!!
Well, here's what's happening in my life right now:
It seems like a bad season for knee injuries/problems on my tournament
team (NorCal Extreme). Darren, the capitan of the team got his
knee hurt at the beginning of the season and is just now coming
back. Just when he is coming back, I get MY knee hurt.
On Saturday in the Junior (21 age division) game against the Roller
Vipers Green (I believe, but it might have been White), I was taking
the puck up the
boards on a fast break. I was ahead of everyone except for the last
defense men. I put the puck off the boards around him one way and
went around him the other way. I would have beat him clean except
that he stuck out his knee and hit me knee-on-knee, drawing a penalty.
That was the initial injury. It did not hurt too bad so I continued
to play the rest of the tournament (the last three games).
Then on Sunday night in Gold league, I got hooked off the face off by
one guy and then I got hit in the leg by a second guy. My knee
buckled and I feel on it with an audible pop (never good). That was
the second injury. Each one separately, might not have been a
problem. But together, they were. It still didn't hurt as bad as I
thought it would for a ligament tear, so I kept playing. Like Ian
said, "Nothing happened."
Turns out, after much pain the day after and a trip to the doctor, I
have torn my LCL (Lateral Collateral Ligament), and the meniscus. I
have had X-rays taken and I have a referral to the Orthopedic Surgeon
(who will most likely want an MRI). Thankfully, the LCL is not
totally disconnected, but it is for the most part.
What this means is that I am going to be out for a LEAST six weeks
(and that is without surgery which I almost certainly need). Like I
said, that is a "best case" scenario. Worst case, I need surgery and
after all is said and done, it will be about eight, possibly twelve
weeks before I'm ready to go.
Bottom line is, best case, I'm back late May. Worst case, could be
sometime in mid to late June. I will keep you updated as I get any
new or relevant information.
So, that really bums me out. I'm not sure right now exactly how long it will be, but it will be too long for me.
On another note, and perhaps a brighter one, I was selected for the
National Dean's List for college. I guess that one (or more) of
my teachers was impressed with my scholastic achievements, so they
nominated me to the list. The National Dean's List is a very
exclusive list (only one half of one percent [so .5%] of the nation's
college students are nominated for this list) that shows some form of
outstanding scholastic achievement. God only knows why I got
nominated, but I did. So, I guess that I have to write a
biography and I will get published in some book. Weird, huh??
So, that's what has been going on with me lately, tell me what's going on with you guys...
